To frame the embroidery correctly (with or without passe-partout) it should be perfectly stretched onto the base card.

Place the embroidery with the right side down. Place the passe-partout card on top.

Place the passe-partout card on the material so that the design is distributed correctly.

Ensure that the right hand side and the bottom side run parallel with the thread direction of the material. Mark angles ‘A’ with a pencil and remove the passe-partout card.

Count 3 threads inwards from the edge and remove one thread from the material. This creates a square of pulled out threads. This edge can now be used as a stretching guide for the material.

  • Place the interior card (included with the frame) with the right side on the table
  • use 2 to 4 cm wide double sided tape (depending on the size of the base card)
  • apply the double sided tape around the outside edge

  •   Remove all tape strips. Fold the corners so that the card edges meet the corners of the pulled out thread guide. Apply securely.

Place the interior card (with the tape side facing upwards) in place of the passe-partout card.

Stretch the rest of the material until the line created by the pulled out thread is level with the side of the interior card. Apply securely. Smooth the corners.

      Assembly
If you do not wish to place the glass in front of the embroidery it should be placed behind it, in order to prevent the frame from warping.

Place the frame with the right side on the table.
Place the frame in the passe-partout (with the right side down).
Place the interior card with the stretched embroidery on top.
Place the glass plate on top (to prevent the frame from warping).
    Fix with the corresponding pins.
Fit the backing card to complete.
